Excellentialism

Someone at work the other day described Excel as "God's tool". While not being a believer (in God, not Excel. I believe in Excel, a belief called excellentialism), I have to agree.

It's surprising, as this guy was, and indeed is, a techie. Usually, techies and Excel don't mix.

Sometimes I feel that if I could - and I am not claiming that I can - but if I could, I would smear Excel all over my nude face and body until I was covered in it.

Don't go all David Koresh on us and hole up with a gang of muttering bespectacled beardy-weirdy analysts in a Texan compound, talking like geeky evangelists in makeshift churches with distinctive grid-like stained glass windows, or the FBI just might burn it to the ground (unless the sun’s rays, concentrated through several hundred pairs of inch-thick spectacles ignites it first). Just thinking of you mate!

god and microsoft, now there's an ugly thought worth a religious pogrom - oops, sorry, ethnic cleansing.
